The grey fire ripped through Medical Lake on August 18th, 2023 causing mass destruction to the area. As a general contractor working in the area Condron Homes had the unique opportunity to hear tens of stories first hand. As early as 8 am on Monday morning a customer who closed on their Condron home in 2015 was calling asking for a re-do. Ryan Haney with ELK RIDGE Builders LLC. was in the middle of the action protecting his friend's horses and home. Each lot affected in the area is going to come with it's own wild story for years to come. 

The owners of this Condron Home have their own wild story to tell. They bought the lot for the trees and the view of the pond in their back yard. Their home was in the foundation phase when the fire swept over them and the lumber load was scheduled to be delivered the following week! Narrowly escaping an insurance claim this family is left with less trees (none), and a more expansive view of the pond. 

As an unexpected blessing these photos were taken 10/14/2024 and their flower bed is still absolutely stunning! A layer of fresh wildfire ash is the secret to a happy plant! Yes, the air still smells like stale wildfire and the scent will probably linger for years to come.
