FRAME YOUR FUTURE

"Frame Your Future, brought to you by the Spokane Home Builders Association, is building a stronger worker training pipeline for residential construction in Eastern Washington by collaborating with area schools and industry leaders to offer construction-based curriculum and hands-on training programs for students and adults seeking employment in the trades."

For years, our public schools have heavily promoted universities as the only path for high school graduates, leaving vocational training and the trades underrepresented as career choices. This shift in focus has, unfortunately, led us to the workforce shortage crisis we’re facing today.

But here’s the good news—things are changing, and they are changing for the better!

With the continued efforts of Frame Your Future and the commitment of the Spokane Home Builders Association Workforce Community, we’re making real progress. We are changing the conversation. High school counselors and advisors are beginning to see the trades as a viable and even advantageous career option for students. The trades are no longer just an alternative path—they are a pathway to stability, success, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

A career in the trades offers so much to those who choose it:

• Well-paying jobs that allow individuals to raise families and retire comfortably.

• No expensive college debt—apprentices earn while they learn, meaning they can start their career without the burden of student loans.

• Transferable skills that are in demand anywhere across the globe.

• Rapid career advancement—the trades offer a direct track to entrepreneurship, allowing individuals to grow into successful business owners.

Thanks to dedicated folks in our industry, and other fellow Founding Sponsors, we are beginning to turn the tide. The trades are no longer a last resort—they are becoming the first choice for students looking to build their future.

This is why support from our community and partners is so important. They not only help raise funds, but they also help raise awareness. Together, we are making sure the next generation understands the full scope of opportunities that the construction industry has to offer.

I am incredibly proud to support this cause, knowing that our joint efforts are making a tangible difference. With continued community support, we are going to see a new wave of skilled workers enter the trades, ensuring a bright and sustainable future for the home building industry and our children.
